On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day 2025, the Department of Respiratory Therapy in collaboration with the Substance Abuse Prevention Committee (YSAHS) organized a guest lecture on 30th May 2025 at New Lecture Hall - 2, Academic Block, YMC. The session, attended by clinical-posted students of the 2022 batch, focused on understanding the psychology behind tobacco addiction and effective cessation strategies.
Dr. Rajesh M, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Yenepoya Medical College, delivered a compelling lecture titled "Breaking the Habit: Understanding Tobacco Addiction and Mental Health Strategies for Cessation." The session aimed to raise awareness about the harmful impact of tobacco use and equip healthcare students with practical mental health approaches for aiding tobacco cessation.
