B.Optom is an undergraduate program in the field of health care concerned with the examination, diagnosis and management of the disorders of the optical system of the eye. Optometrists play an important multidimensional role in the functioning of eye clinics and hospitals. The program is envisaged to develop a multipurpose paramedical ophthalmic manpower competent in providing service as an Optometrist to the community in urban, semi-urban and rural settings in private, semi- Governmental and Governmental sectors.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Serving as a review member of the Scientific Review Board of Yenepoya School of Allied Health Sciences and involved in reviewing and approving scientific proposals of faculties, postgraduates, and Ph.D. scholars.
- Officially appointed as NSS Programme Officer by the Government of Karnataka under Yenepoya (Deemed-to-be University) and organized multiple community outreach activities.
- Heading NAAC Criteria 5 under the IQAU of Yenepoya School of Allied Health Sciences, Yenepoya (Deemed-to-be University).
- Serving as a member (Research Programme and Policy Development) of the Research and Development Cell of Yenepoya School of Allied Health Sciences, Yenepoya (Deemed-to-be University).
- Active member of the Interdisciplinary Research Club of Yenepoya (Deemed-to-be University).
- Active member of the My Bharat Portal of Yenepoya School of Allied Health Sciences.
