Deeksharambh 2025 - Induction & Orientation Programme

The Induction and Orientation Programme, Deeksharambh 2025, was successfully organized by the Yenepoya School of Allied Health Sciences (YSAHS), Yenepoya Physiotherapy College, and the Department of Hospital Administration, under the aegis of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), from 28th to 30th August 2025 at the Yendurance Zone, Deralakatte Campus.

The three-day programme was designed to orient the freshers towards academics, university culture, student welfare measures, and holistic development opportunities.

Day 1 - 28th August 2025
The programme commenced with a grand inaugural ceremony, which included Invocation, Lighting the Lamp, Welcome Address, Address by the Hon. Vice Chancellor, Message by the Hon. Chancellor, Vote of Thanks, and the National Anthem.

The day featured insightful sessions:

  • Orientation to Academic Programmes - Dr. Sunita Saldanha, Dean, Faculty of Allied & Healthcare Professions
  • Code of Conduct - Dr. Maji Jose, Dean, Student Affairs
  • Learning Management System (Yengage), SMS Portal & IT Orientation - Mr. Rajesh Karkera, Director, IT Department

Day 2 - 29th August 2025
Day 2 focused on student welfare, safety, and leadership orientation:

  • National Service Scheme (NSS) - Dr. Ashwini S. Shetty, Director, Extension & Outreach Activities
  • Internal Complaints Committee - Dr. Priya Reshma Aranha, Vice Principal, Yenepoya Nursing College
  • Library Resources - Dr. K.S. Ali, Chief Librarian, Central Library
  • Youth Red Cross - Mrs. Nithyashree B.V, Nodal Officer, YRC
  • Anti-Ragging Measures of the University - Dr. Maji Jose, Dean, Student Affairs
  • Psychosocial Impacts of Ragging - Mrs. Shwetha B, Assistant Professor, Clinical Psychology, YSAHS
  • Orientation to Sports Facilities - Mr. Sujith K.V, Director, Physical Education
  • YSAHS Student Council Installation - Mr. Mohideen Sharfan, Coordinator
  • University Alumni Cell (YUAA) - Dr. Sonu Ramdan M, President, YUAA Cell

Day 3 - 30th August 2025
The final day was dedicated to awareness, wellness, and cultural engagement:

  • Say NO to Drugs - Ms. Adeline Sara Nishama, Programme Coordinator, Physician Associate Unit & Chairperson, Substance Abuse Prevention Committee, YSAHS
  • Knowledge Nest: Digital Learning in the New Age - Ms. Anjali Kotian, Asst. Professor, Unit of Respiratory Therapy & Coursera Coordinator, YSAHS
  • Psychosocial Impacts of Ragging - Mrs. Shwetha B, Assistant Professor, Clinical Psychology, YSAHS
  • Orientation to Cultural & Sports Activities - Mr. Uvais S.P, Coordinator

Conclusion
Deeksharambh 2025 concluded successfully, having introduced students to the academic framework, student support services, leadership opportunities, and values of Yenepoya University. Over three days, students engaged in sessions that emphasized academic excellence, discipline, student welfare, digital learning, cultural participation, and holistic growth.

The programme marked a significant step in welcoming the new batch of students into the Yenepoya family, setting the foundation for a transformative educational journey.
