Heart Failure Awareness Week Observed by Units of Cardiovascular and Perfusion Technology

Aug 1, 2025

The Units of Cardiovascular Technology and Perfusion Technology jointly organized a two-day program on August 1st and 2nd, 2025, to observe Heart Failure Awareness Week. The initiative aimed to educate and sensitize students on the causes, clinical aspects, and management of heart failure.

The highlight of the event was an expert guest lecture delivered by Mrs. Namitha Arvind Baliga on the topic "Hypertensive Heart Failure." The session offered valuable insights into the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment approaches for hypertensive heart failure, significantly enriching students' clinical understanding.

Following the lecture, a Poster Presentation Competition on the theme "Heart Failure" was conducted. Students enthusiastically participated, presenting well-researched and visually engaging posters that illustrated key facets of heart failure, from pathogenesis to prevention strategies.

The program also featured a Basic Life Support (BLS) session with hands-on training, where students had the opportunity to learn and practice critical life-saving techniques under expert guidance.

This event served as a vital educational platform, reinforcing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for future healthcare professionals.
